We were invited by the M&S Outlet team to propose limited scope refurbishments to uplift their existing Outlet stores. We worked with brand strategist Lucy Woodward to challenge the brief and create a vision for how the stores could be and what would make them engaging, but most importantly, to find a character for the brand that the Outlets team could be proud of within the ‘main chain’.

Our approach was well received and the scope of the project widened to include brand identity, communications, ticketing and uniforms. This work was realised in a pilot store at Junction 1 in County Antrim, where floors were stripped back to polished concrete and historic fixtures were refinished to make them utilitarian and honest. ‘JUST’ was our mantra – Just concrete, just paint, just in and just pants!
